Cash on hand £6,642.84. Bank statement posted to the Stewards channel as always. - [ ] Renewal planned for end of April/beginning of May. $10 per year. Should encourage everyone to bring in two or three friends. - [ ] Upcoming general meetings: 22 May, 24 July, 25 Sep, 27 Nov (if not Thanksgiving). [Calendar]( https://calendar.google.com/calendar/b/1?cid=NmZraWd0dTl2Y3FqdHY5Ym5mZDIzbHZxc2tAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ). - [ ] Stewards handle operations and help the Digital Life Collective to continue to exist (requires 1-3 hours a week). Best way to get involved is to join the Friday Steward calls. - [ ] Public engagement team are working on the new role of a DigLife Ambassador for people who want to promote the team externally. - [ ] Roy is working on the website front end. As CaaS comes together as a product/service this will influence the design of the web experience. Having some issues with Ghost as a CMS- great for blogging. Not so much for a site front-end; looked at Wordpress, but some issues there as well re tech load and, again, access for easy blogging and challenges integrating other services being used here - CodiMD eg; reviewing HTML5 templates to see if they may provide a solution. Doing a bit more posting on Twitter, but this is intermittent. Use #share@TechWeTrust in Twitter or #share in Mattermost to share DigLife-related posts so we can publish. Also crosspost opportunities. Join call on Friday to get involved and find out more re web & needs. - [ ] Joachim quickly introduced TalkTime and confirmed that Roy had given good update on web migration plan. Then gave quick tour of DigLife Portal (still under construction, but much available to explore). - [ ] Social Ledger - looks at interactions of members rather than financial transactions. [CaaS Platform doc](https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1EHGGz0KgJw4pDAtp-_DGA5HEPzv1otPdnuOHTLzuqdE/edit), [DL Platform II doc](https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1ytGsr620J-wWfNUgCEfYd2fKX0plUXIaCjHYpLvluXs/edit). Can see interactive skills map on portal by clicking on second yellow button down on the right (show skills) here: https://diglife.coop/#/ - [ ] Philip explained some of the partners who we are hoping to work with on adoption of the CaaS tools. Philip and Kaliya will connect offline to discuss ooping in the wirleine team. Les is watching progress with DigLife CaaS and has a community that may find it very useful - he'll follow up with Philip. - [ ] Sophia started development of a skills map in the [winter](https://kumu.io/DigLife/network-coordination#winter-2018). Aim of this was to connect demand with relevant skills (and time). Was looking to do a Spring version of the map, but waiting on having a solution to make node updating more easy (e.g. tying it into profile on Mattermost). - [ ] Mike raised the topic of AIs and use in resume analysis and skills matching. Jim and Joachim talked about looking at APIs and bots that may provide some 'AI' functionality. - [ ] Philip talked about personal and interpersonal data from work he is doing at Akasha. [Link](https://akasha.org/blog/2019/04/01/ssimeetup-webinar) posted in agenda above. We're looking for connections, co-operators, collaborators, etc. - [ ] Mapping: core team forming a cooperative business and will share partnership to keep diglife map projects rolling forward. See existing Collecive maps here: https://kumu.io/DigLife/ecosystem-directory - [ ] Sophia on Open Learning Commons. A community and learning space for self-directed learners. Super-early, experimental phase. eg. Robert Best recently assembled a small group on Augmented Cognition. - [ ] Eric is using Taiga to manage and progress the _Climb DAT mountain_ project. Looking to encourage adoption by teachers for collaboration with students. Emphasised the cacheing of the sites so that the student need not be online when accessing the site. They can work remotely and re-sync when they come back to class. [Click here for more information](https://notepad.diglife.coop/s/rk9Lx9JSN). Call to action — connect us to teachers who would be interested in developing storyboards to suit their needs. - [ ] Jim loves the potential for off-grid applications in particular. ### Zoom Chat 12:03:25 From Philip Sheldrake : https://talktime.diglife.coop/diglife 12:03:26 From Graham Mitchell : https://talktime.diglife.coop/diglife 12:03:52 From Philip Sheldrake : We’re in here: https://talktime.diglife.coop/diglife … click the two-column icon at the top of the doc to enter edit mode 12:05:22 From christina bowen : Hi! The work we're doing is valuable. There has to be a way to scale this! - [ ] Les — super-excited, chomping at the bit. Very grateful to Christina for the time she has invested to onboard him. The offer here is tremendous for all of us who care about ourselves and the planet. - [ ] Kaliya — making connections. - [ ] Colin — Is diving in and is/was editing this. Looking forward to meeting new people and helping to develop Better Tools. - [ ] Jerry — 2nd the big-up for Christina and Sophia - [ ] Lauren — so impressed by everything happening. Offers graphic design skills - [ ] Roy — thanks for all volunteering. 'Conversational Commons' - [ ] Eric — I found the skills map interesting, need to get that live - [ ] John G — on the 'threat' of AI in recruitment, John actually can't wait to disintermediate the recruiters. Everyone is going to have to adapt, and humans will have to specialise in what humans do best e.g. empathy. Mentioned the reputation economy. - [ ] Michael — we have a cluster of creative chaos, which is confusing in a nice way - [ ] Gary — the rate of change is difficult to keep up with. - [ ] Sophia — really wonderful to join a call of twenty members. All of this is made possible by the member recruitment and onboarding, and we need to expand this team, spread the load. - [ ] Philip — add complexity, as Gregory Bateson prescribed. Keep growing our diversity. Beware homegenous tech teams setting out to "solve" problems. They are a danger to society. (On that note, Christina pointed everyone to our colleague [Gideon Rosenblatt's work](https://www.the-vital-edge.com/).) - [ ] Roy — conversational commons, a lovely phrase that Joachim has introduced - [ ] Joachim — get involved. Fill out your skillsets to feed into our own social graph. - [ ] Jim — eager to make this wonderful mix of people as effective as possible. - [ ] Christina — Ahead of the social ledger being fully functional, please use the existing _Stewards_ channel, to provide a weekly ops update. Just short, sharp and sweet. Also, use _Announcements_ or _Help Desk_ in main chat as needed if you have a project you are getting rolling. ### :clapper: Actions & Decisions Please record any actions and/or decisions from the meeting; attach names & dates and check off items completed, if possible. - [ ] Schedule session on #AI (in that chat channel, main DigLife chat) - [ ] - [ ] :::warning ###### tags: `meeting` `gm` ###### authors: `joachim` `graham` `roy` `sophia` `christina` `philip` :::
